About the Artist
Eddie Kents passion is the hand building of Raku and Stoneware pottery.
Eddie working from his studio in the Chiltern Hills on the borders of Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire specializing in decorative pots and vessels greatly inspired by Gothic, Celtic, Aboriginal and African motifs which can be seen in the carved designs that seem typical of my Stoneware pottery work. With the Raku ceramic work a more 'graphical' style is used with designs tending to be more 'Geometric' and using the properties of this technique to create bold statements.
His work is hand built using two main pottery techniques 'Slab' and 'Coil'. Firing either using a electric kiln or one of his gas fired Raku kilns.
Eddie teaches and hold workshops locally at the Phoenix Studio and at 'Mole Cottage' in the heart of the South Devon countryside.
Visitors are welcome to the studio by appointment.
